My Studio Will Be Closed Till October 8th

I wish it was a true vacation. But it's not.. just stuff I've been putting on the back burner till I had the time to do them. Been very busy trying to get ready to do shows and finish commissions. My last show was in Jackson Hole.. so now I'm free'd up.. I love you all who come and see what I'm doing, around the world. I'm just so proud that so many watch my videos. I'd hug you all if I could. See you on the 8th of October.. please come back and see what I'm doing then..

Human Proportion for Figure Drawing: The Ultimate Guide

This video on proportions is just great. For all of my fellow artists, you probably already know this stuff, but I like the way Merrill kazanjian, from Freeport New York explains it.. And I actually learned something I didn't know before. Subscribe on his Youtube Channel.. He is a wonderful artist and can teach even me.. an old dog, new tricks. Enjoy this video.

Here are a few pages from my art books.

Remembering 9 11 - Madison Valley's Veteran's Legacy

I put this video up over a year ago.. thought it appropriate to revisit it today.
Just remembering my part in the creation of this memorial to Veterans living and dead. Who gave their lives and futures to this country's survival. To preserve the freedoms our forefathers gave us.
I show the monumental bronze I was asked to create for this sacred spot in South West Montana.

New Beginnings - A Pioneer Piece - First Steps

Had a model shoot a while back. Two Lithuanian ladies were our models dressed as pioneer woman on the prairie. I'm thinking of creating, using TruForm armatures, a horse and one of the ladies, in a piece that will show a pioneer woman, with the ever present weapon for protection, viewing the vast prairies before her, when one of her families horses joins her on a round knoll on the vast sea of grass that they're crossing.
My Great Great Grandfather Alfred Harper, a wheelwright from Ohio, traveled in a large wagon train in 1846. He settled in the Salt Lake Valley on July 24th 1847. This piece is to honor the courage of men and woman, going into the unknown to make a new life.

Happy Empty Chair Day...

I got up at 5 am and set out a chair, respectfully, for the President to sit in, and have a brew.. I don't drink because I'm a Mormon, so I got a 6 pack just for him.. Put out the Barbi, to put steaks on.. oh wait, don't have the money for steaks.. he'll have to settle for hot dogs. Anyway, I set out a Hawaiian shirt for him so he'd feel comfortable. Now I know he doesn't go into his Oval Office till 9:30 am.. and leaves at 4:30 pm, but what the heck.. he might drop by.
Of course my home isn't as nice as his. But what the heck, the chair is there, who knows. My anticipation is mounting.
Update.. Noon.. Still waiting

In case you have no idea what this is all about. Here's Clint Eastwood's Empty Chair..
