Been a Year Since I Was Struck With Bell's Palsy

Just remembered that it was a little over a year ago that I was struck with a Paralisis on the left side of my face. It was called "Bell's Palsy". It goes away after a while.. and a year later it's completely gone. Anyone can get this.. It was surprising to me how many people I know, have had this happen to them. Didn't do much of anything on the dog today. I have 9 Instructional DVDs on Sculpting available.. Check the video description for details and link.

Positioning of the American Dingo Dog With The Mountain Man and His Wife

Spent the day trying to figure out the best placement of the American Dingo Dog with the Mountain Man and his wife. I didn't want the dog to dominate the composition.. and she would if I didn't place her just right. Yes, it's going to be a female dog.

Sketching in the Dog in Clay

After 11pm, I got the urge to start slapping clay on the Dog Armature. Not worrying about bones or muscles, just sketching it in.

Scaling Feathers, and Creating a Dog Armature

I've mulled over in my mind an idea, on how to perk up this piece, for a couple of days. Well today I thought I'd make a Dog, a dog that has been in North America for thousands of years, an American Dingo. You'd of found them in Indian Villages.. and companions out west in the early days. Today I started the armature. The full video of making that armature will be on a Instructional DVD I'm working on, showing how to make armatures.

Update on the Clay's Progress and Future Additions to the Clay

I worked off camera today, only because I didn't want any of your eyes falling out of their sockets from shear boredom... I finished the strip of quillwork on the robe. Next week I'll be back on it finishing up the fur and the robe. I'm also formulating an idea for a possible addition to this piece.

Creating a Porcupine Quilled Strip on the Buffalo Robe

Buffalo Robes were often decorated with either paint, beads or in the case of the robe I'm re-creating, a strip of Porcupine Quills woven into a strip down the center of the robe. Porcupine quilling is an ancient Native American Art. Indian Quillwork involved softening, in boiling water, and then using natural earth dyes, then flattening the quills and weaving them onto Leather or other material.

Delivering Salt to Todd Connor's Studio and I got stuck on the Road in t...

Todd Connor needed me to come a take a look at some of the paintings he's taking to the Charlie Russell Show up in Great Falls next week.. He asked if I'd pick up a 25 pound bag of salt on the way.. his half mile long driveway had just been plowed.. I drove on it fine till i got to one little patch of ice.. then I just couldn't go up further.. He dug and dug the ice and snow, and I'd try to move and all I did was slide sideways.. Finally he was able to back me back on the road and then we backed down the road to the main road. Another couple that was visiting him and who got locked out of their car, had to have a Locksmith come out and unlock their car. The lock smith had to park his truck behind me because I was blocking him from going up to the other couple. Well they got their car unlocked.. Todd and I backed down the plowed road to the main Highway, and the couple, with all wheel drive and better tires drove us back up to Todd's so I could see his paintings.. It was a really tiring day.

Scaling a Buffalo Robe to the Scale of the Mountain Man and his Lady

Today I had to figure out the scale size of the Buffalo Robe the Mountain Man is wearing over his right shoulder and then over the left shoulder of his wife. I have to see, first of all, if what I have on them now is to big or not to big. I show how I scaled the robe using a Publishing Program you can buy online, PRINTMASTER GOLD 18.

Working on my New Instructional DVD - Working on The Lady's Dress and Arm

Worked on the ladies Dress and Right Arm today. I gave up on the two GoPro Cameras. If I was a skier or a surfer, or dirt biker.. they'd be awesome.. but stationary, and videoing me sculpting. Quality is there but the way the videos are recorded on the Memory Card was Wacky as all get out.. My Canon SX30 IS cameras have served me well for almost 8 years. I only had to replace one of them. So I'm back to them.. I'll use the GoPros.. but not in my Studio.. I wasted almost a week trying to make them work...

Setting up my Magnetic Knife Bars for storing my Sculpting Tools

I had such good time figuring out how to set up the Magnetic Bars for my Sculpting Tools today. Some of the tools weren't made of Steele so they wouldn't work on the bars. Most of them did.. I couldn't of used a third bar... Haha.. I have a lot of tools.. but almost all are up and ready to create...

Received a Flexible Marquette From China and Went to the Lumber Yard

I ordered a while ago, a poseable action marquette for artists. I finally received it today from China. A better review of this action marquette can be found on AnthonysCustoms Channel on YouTube at this Link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u04vJrkddL0 I also received my magnetic knife bars today. I plan to put all my metal tools on these so they're up and off my table and at easy find and reach. Went to the Lumber Yard to get wood to build the support for the magnetic bars.
