Studio is in Transition - I'll be moving the rest of this Week

See you all Next week, when I get back to work on putting period cloths on, Captain John Lovewell. I'll be moving back from my house bedroom to my studio, 3 miles from my home. Lovewell's piece will just be to big to work on in my small room at home. Besides, it's time to get back into my real studio. Hopefully, I'll be back on the clay Monday next week.

TruForm Armatures Newest 1/6 th Life Size Horse Armature Shown for the First Time

TruForm on their horse armatures.. http://www.truformarmatures.com
"The TruForm Equine Armature System is the most advanced armature system on the market. Our equine armature moves anatomically correct in every position. We are fortunate to have Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine at our disposal for skeletal reference and some of the most talented equine sculptors in the country to test our armatures. Our equine armature is made of the same durable materials as our Truform figure armatures. Each of our Equine Armature Systems come in two models — the rigid ribcage and the flex ribcage. The rigid ribcage is made of rigid foam that will not flex side to side and is best if your equine is moving in a straight line. Our flex ribcage is made to flex like the real ribcage and is best if you intend to have a lot of action. The pelvis and extremities are made of urethane plastic and the head of urethane foam. The skeleton can be raised at the center pipe by a t-screw adjustment. Our TruForm Equine Armature System is 1/4 scale (15" at the withers) to a 15--15.2 hands high quarter horse. This scale compliments our 18" figure armature. The bones can be lengthened at the femur, pelvis and cannon bones. All parts will be replaceable and can be found on our parts page. 1/3 scale coming soon."

A Delightful Day Hiking on a Local Cattle Ranch - Till I Slipped on Ice

Got together with friends yesterday, on a large cattle ranch near Three Forks Montana, for a little hike along the Jefferson River. It was such a beautiful day. I stepped onto a froze stream, that didn't look like a frozen stream but just more snow covered ground. I feet slipped and I hurt my right knee area. So I'm nursing my leg for a few days.

Capt John Lovewell's 1725 Clothing Arrived Today

Receiving and shipping today.. Received, the 1725 period clothing, that I ordered today.
The clothing was made by Niel Redmond, Little Orleans MD.
Went around showing people the clothing that asked to see it when I got it.. so no sculpting I'm afraid again. Still not feeling great but I had to get out of bed and just get busy. I may have overdone it.

Pictures of the painting of Capt. John Lovewell finished and in the current John Lovewells Lodge on Lake Tahoe California. This was painted by John Buxton of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.

AnatomyTools.com New Female Figure Arrives Today.. A Friend's 1st Bronze

Got this email the other day

Mr. Lemon,
I'm so excited and couldn't wait to send these pictures to you. I feel like a kid in a candy store.(and I'm 67). As you can see, I finally put my little "Maidu Dancer" (California native) into bronze. Finished it last night with the foundry and will put a patina on it tonight. For my first clay to bronze ever, I'm pleased. You do know that you're my inspiration. Following your blog I've learned so much and I can't say enough "thank you's " , so... thank you again for your encouragement.
I should have started this 30 years ago!

Jerry
from Rocklin, Ca

These are photos of his finished bronze.
