Shot Pouch, Powder Horn, and Creating a Full Figure in Clay

Continued working on the figure. I found that the Resin reference figure from Anatomytools.com was perfect proportions to the figure I was working on. I showed a Mountain Man pouch and Black Powder Horn I used as a re-enactor, back in the late 80s and early 90s. at the beginning of the video. I show a photo of my mom, Genvieve. as well. It's always in the background and I get asked all the time.. who is she.

Finished the Clay Sketch Showed how to use the Pasta Machine

Teresa, in Texas asked me why the clay she ran through her Pasta Machine would bubble and separate when she ran it through the rollers. I took a moment to explain how to properly put the clay through the machine. Then I finished up the Sketch of the Warrior. Then a short trip to a clients house to return a bronze I borrowed to photograph.

The Sketch, A Face then Hair

I started out today working on the head of the warrior, by detaching it from his body, and placing it in a jig so I could work on the face more comfortably

The sketch is Fleshing Out

Only had a couple of hours today to do anything on this sketch.. Once I started it.. It flowed from my fingers pretty dang good... I'm very happy with this small piece... very happy. This is where 50 years of sculpting... comes in very handy..

Making an Armature for the Sketch

I show how to make an armature today. Then I place it on the base and start to add wax. I had to stop though, and clean my tools of all clay. Clay and wax don't mix. It took several hours to clean all my tools... Which killed the rest of the day.

Starting the a Sketch in Wax Creating the foundation for the Piece

Started the sketch for the piece I will do in Loveland Colorado, Sculpture Depot at their store there. I'll be doing a sculpting demo... I'm thinking of doing a sitting figure.
