Commission - Leather Feel at the bottom of the Door Handle

There will be the Crystal Ball with the bronze Indian Busts that I
completed two weeks ago, on top of this door handle. Now I work on the
detail at the bottom of the handle. Crystal stems will be hanging down
with cast bronze to look like pieces of leather hanging over the point
where the crystal attaches to the handle. Gloria 'D', in Virginia City
Montana, will contribute her talents to putting detail on the handle
itself above my detail.
This is my ONLINE GALLERY address. http://bronzesbydavidlemon.blogspot.com/
I've received a commission to create two busts of an Indian man and
woman to be fitted in bronze on the top of two crystal balls at the
top of a set of door handles. There's going to be a lot of creativity
in these door handles and my contribution is just part of it.

Julie in Studio-TruForm and Door Handle Today

Julie Burt will be working in a part of my studio for the next while. Today I received the TruForm bust today. It's amazing how it is so versatile. You can get one of these armatures or choose from other forms of armatures at their website. http://www.truformarmatures.com/
I turned over the bust armature to Julie, to see how she does with it. She's helped me in the past with monumental works, and she's dying to start sculpting. I'll keep you up to date on how she does with this armature.
I was back on the Door Handle Commission today. I received the new handles last week.

Quickdraw in Bronze - Finishing up the Indian Male on the Door Handle

Back on April 30th, I took part in a Western Artshow in San Dimas California. That afternoon, I did a quickdraw. I flash back to that in the beginning of this video, then show, how it looked yesterday in the foundry, cast into bronze.

In Old Virginia City Montana - Through Windows Into Bygone Times

Took a little walking trip through Virginia City Montana today, looking through windows of a bygone era. The stores sealed in time. Shelves stocked, for ghosts of the past. Faces looking back at the present from a time when life, not quit as safe, but gentler in some respects.

Worked on my running horse - Then started a special commission

Sorry, forgot to add music to the silent area of the video.. lol
I started the day on the horse I started in Virginia City last weekend.
Whitney Lake, asked me to do a sculpture of Sagittarius, a half man half horse piece. He's had this idea knocking around, inside his minds eye for years, and so he's asked me to fill in the dream. So we collaborate on it's beginning today in my studio.
In Greek mythology, Sagittarius is identified as a centaur: half human, half horse. In some legends, the Centaur Chiron was the son of Philyra and Saturn, who was said to have changed himself into a horse to escape his jealous wife, Rhea. Chiron was eventually immortalized in the constellation of Centaurus or in some versions, Sagittarius
